*Together forever could never be long enough*

In keeping with the wedding theme from last night, I wanted to tell of you about two beautiful young ladies that are soon be someone's Mrs.! First is Ms. Hayleigh Summers. I met Hayleigh through her now fiancé Ryan, when we worked together at Cav Rx. She is such a sweet lady, Ryan is a very lucky man. Here is the couple soon after becoming engaged.

Ryan and Hayleigh are such a great couple, very caring and loving of each other. When you say Hayleigh's name in Ryan's presence, his whole face lights up! You can just tell that these two were made for each other. I can not wait to witness their exchanging of vows, I am pretty sure there will not be a dry eye in the house. Oh and not to keep you in suspense about the ring check it out!

Ryan (aka: "bub") did a great job, didn't he? So now that brings me to my second soon to be Mrs. Her name is Julie of BrownEyedBelle. Julie and I have never personally met, but I feel like I have known her forever! I have been an avid reader of her blog since 2009, and I just love her. Julie is a classy, southern belle and she has met an equally classy gentleman in Brad. Here is the great looking couple!

Are they not the one of the cutest couples you have ever seen?! From the moment that Julie posted that she was in a relationship with a great man, I just got a feeling that something really good was going to happen to her. I was absolutely over the moon when she posted this photo on Facebook back in November.

And to quote Julie on her response, "He asked. I said YES!!!!" I have to admit I did squeal in delight when I saw that photo. How could you not be happy for someone who is such a sweet and amazing person as Julie? Oh and to make it better, Julie later that night posted this photo!

Yes, that is a Tiffany & Co. blue box! (To die for, right?!) Brad did a a really good job, if I must say so myself! To ask the ladies whom she wanted to be in her wedding party, she sent out these adorable cards asking them "Will you be my bridesmaid?" I love this idea, I had never thought of it before!

Super cute! I can not wait to see photos of the wedding, I know with Julie's fashion, and sense of style that it is sure to be a beautiful occasion! Ladies, I hope that one day I am as lucky as you two are,  and find my missing puzzle piece for life. I pray that God blesses your marriages and may they be full of love and babies! (wink!)

Diamonds are a girl's best friend!

                      Spring 2012
                    Charleston, SC

I am so excited to let everyone know my oldest sister Talitha became engaged on December 11, 2011! The very lucky man (if I do say so myself)  is Michael Sarhan. They are really great together, and I can not wait for Michael to be apart of this family! I am also really excited to help Talitha looking for wedding dresses. I really wish Talena was able to be there, but she will be there in our minds and hearts. As you read above, the wedding is going to be held in Charleston, SC (YAY!!!!) and I am needing a date (ECK!) Do you have a single son, brother, or friend? (lol) Me saying that makes me think of that movie "The Wedding Date," (which I love by the way.) Charleston is a special place for them, they have had two vacations there already and they love the southern charm and history.  He also did a great job on the ring, take a look!

Once again to Michael and Talitha, congratulations! May God bless both of you and this union! Oh I can't forget their dog daughter Mara, I just love her!!!

My new addiction......

This amazing app/website has become one of my favorite past time in the past couple of months. I was introduced to it by a lady I work with, and after 4 weeks of waiting to get a pin I was addicted. Any down time at work, riding in a car, or even waiting in line at the drive-thru  you will catch me pinning away! If you have never heard of www.Pinterest.com, you need to go there NOW and request a pin, or ask me and I can send you an invite. The website not only has photos of homes, gardens, weddings, babies, clothes, but they also have recipes and DIY crafts. My friend M tried a couple of recipes, when we had a girls night a couple of weeks ago, and they were to die for! Here are a couple of things I am wanting to try.

A DYI bowl made of buttons! If goes step by step on  how to make this amazing piece of art. Then if you know me, you know that my favorite soda is Dr. Pepper. So of course when I saw these I knew I would  have to make the ASAP!

Dr. Pepper cupcakes! Are they not amazing looking! I love how they used the cans as the cupcake holders, a neat idea I had never thought of. The recipe is also included on this pin.

So I guess your wandering what "Pinterest" and "pins" are so here you go! (via pinterest.com)

Did God just tease me?

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, I know I did! Good food, great friends, and family. And who could forget those presents? Santa was very nice to me this year! He brought me a diamond necklace, and my present to myself has not came in yet. I bought a Hermes Birkin 40cm bag!! I am very excited for it to come in! (in my VERY GIDDY voice!)

I went to a friends home last night for dinner with her family, and a couple of us single women started talking about this man who I met this past week and could not stop smiling about.  We will call him "HIM."  HIM is an amazing man, I have never met anyone like him before, and we took to each other very fast and easy.  He came to my Christmas dinner, and I seriously forgot there was anyone else in the room, except he and I. Have you ever looked into someones eyes and felt at ease/excited at the same time? This is how he made me feel...I hope that God wasn't teasing me with HIM, I would love to see/talk/be around him again. Oh and his voice, Good Lord! Some people say you just know when you meet the "one." Well I think I know what that feels like, but I couldn't keep him....isn't that ironic? Not for me.....boo

Talena got married!

I know I have been gone for over a month, but I am back! Yes there has been a lot going on as you can tell from the title today. My younger sister Talena changed her last name on October 1st, but that isn't the only name that changed....I changed the name of my blog! I liked my other name, but it just didn't seem to fit me after I had "tried it on" for a bit. So, how has everyone been? Well it has been hectic in the S family the past month. As I told you before, Talena is leaving for boot camp on Nov. 15 and he beau Shaun proposed to her on Sept. 16th. She asked her recruiter if she should go ahead and get married, or wait. So that set off a frenzy to plan a wedding in 3 weeks! Yes my mother and I were the ones that did it, and I am happy to say that it was a really beautiful wedding. Very intimate, and small which is what she wanted, the weather was crazy (rain/snow) but it was great! I have to admit I even cried a little bit, but what can I say I love weddings! I would love to be a wedding planer, so without further ado, here are some photos of the beautiful day.

Where Were You?....

It has been 10 years since that fateful day that took so many lives, and changed so many as well. I was in Washington, D.C. that day, about to go out with my sister. I know God was watching out for us, because I was supposed to have gotten up about 7:00 that morning to start getting ready to go out with my sister Talitha. She got off work at that time and would be home to get ready to take me out for a little while. But that morning I had the worst back ache I had ever had, seriously I couldn't even move. I kept praying that the pain would cease so I could get up, because I knew my sister would be mad if I wasn't ready by the time she got home. I just could not do it though, and that my friends was God! He knew that we did not need to be in that place, and intervened. My uncle had called us and told us to turn on the TV, that America was under attack, and like flipping on a light switch my back stopped hurting. I could finally move! Praise God!! My sister and I may have not been in the area of the Pentagon, but still he kept us out of harms way. I want to thank all the service men and women that fight to keep this country free and safe. Soon my sister Talena will be one of those women to do this, and I pray that God keeps her safe. Talena became engaged Friday night to her sweet heart Shaun. I just pray that God is the leader in their lives and watches over them where ever they go. God Bless America!!!

This is a picture my mom took when we were in NYC in the early 90's

                                                            May we never forget!

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

That Thing You Do..

I have been thinking a lot about love lately, and the sweet things men do to make my belly flutter. No I have not found Mr. Right yet, but still I love to think about what my future Mr. Right will be like (or wish he would be like.) You know the simple little things they do, that mean so much to you. For example when they kiss your forehead, ahh I love that! Those types of simple yet sweet things. I know this will never be told to me in my life, but there are 2 movie line in 2 different movies that I would LOVE to me told but my Mr. Right. The first one is from the movies Pride and Prejudice, and it is the final scene when Mr. Darcy says that she has Bewitched him body and soul and that he loves her...ahhhhhh! Here you have to see it!
The second is from the movie Chasing Liberty when Ben tells Anna that being around her he becomes so unbloody hinged being near her! Ah lord I would love to hear that being said to me!!! Watch!!!

Does your man do something that is so simple but yet it is so sweet? Here are some pictures of the other things I think are sweet that I would love a man to do!

                                                               Kiss my forehead
                                                                      Kiss my eyelids
                                                                      Play with my hair
                                                                        Hold hands
Ahh I guess I will have to wait for these things to happen to me....

Some of My Favorite Churches

When my family and I would travel to NOVA we would go through Keswick and Orange County. No matter what time of day my mom would always wake me up so I could look at "my church." Now this church is just amazing to look at. I have never been in it, but I would love to. I have noticed that is the one thing I look for when I am on trips to new places, is churches. I love the really small quaint ones, but I also love the opulent one too. So here is a few pictures of some churches I love!
Grace Episcopal Keswick, VA

Virginia City, Virginia

                                                               Southfork Pound, Virginia
                                                          Church Circle Kingsport, TN
                                                    Episcopal Church Abingdon, VA

I hope you all have a great day!!

A Friend Until The End....and Then Some

Well I am not going to lie, today was a really bad day for me. I didn't think I was even going to do a post when I got home, but that has all changed. My daily routine from coming home is to go to my computer and read all of the yahoo news first, facebook, then blog. So today as I opend yahoo news I see a story about a young man who was a Navy Seal by the name of  Jon Tumilson that was killed in that horrible helicopter accident on August 6. They had his funeral at the local high school, and his Labrador retriever named Hawkeye was in attendance. Tumilson was said to have called Hawkeye his son, they were that close. The dog followed a friend of Tumilson to the front of the auditorium when he was about to give his speech and laid down in front of the casket and stayed there the whole time. Here is a photo that was taken of Hawkeye at the funeral.

This just really made me take a step back and realize how lucky I am, even though I have had a rough day it doesn't even come close to the day this family had. I have a lab also, and the loyalty they have towards their owners is unfathomable. Dakota (my lab) will sit and wait for my dad every day under our mimosa tree and then run to greet him when he gets out of his truck. So to see Hawkeye mourn Tumilson really breaks my heart. I hope that where ever his family is, they know how grateful I am that he gave his life for our country. And I hope that God gives them the peace and rest they need in the coming future.  Take the time to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you, you never know when it could be their time, and then you will never get that chance again.

Loving Miranda Lambert!

I finally bought Miranda's 3rd album Revolution, and it is awesome! I love her style, sassiness, and confidence. She seems like the girl next door who you could go shopping with, and also come home a drink a couple of beers with. My friend Morgan and I can not wait for the release of Miranda's new group Pistol Annies cd. It comes out TOMORROW!! I am uber excited, as if you couldn't tell right!

I was so happy when she finally got married to Blake Shelton, they make such a cute pair! They compliment each other, and I hope to find that someday! Just like Miranda said she had to be patient and wait for her man, and therefore so must I.
I know a lot of you do not listen to country music, but not every country song is about losing your wife, your car and your dog. Miranda's song can pump you up like the song "Gunpowder and Lead", or they can even make you cry like "The House That Built Me." She is a little rock and a little country all rolled into one! I'm really happy that she has finally been given the recognition that she deserves by the Country Music Industry, for so long it seemed to me that she was being looked over. She racked up at the CMA awards this past November, I really hope she does the same this year!

So how has everyone's week started? Mine, ah it was ok I have had better. I hope this is not a sign of how the rest of the week will be, I'm not sure I could make it..
